DESIGN PLACEMENT

My year in industry was spent at Optima Design Services, a design consultancy based in Derbyshire. As Optima is a consultancy business I found myself working on a range of different products throughout the duration of my time with them.

Two compressible bottles, Designed for Optimum.
These bottles have to ability to collapse, making it much simpler for the user to store.
Typically for gym use, one for water (500ml) and the other for protein shakes (750ml).

'Rinstar'. An aid for children to make brushing their teeth enjoyable. The targets would be stuck in the bowl of a bathroom sink. The child brushing their teeth would then spit out any toothpaste, hit the targets numbered 1 to 3 which would revolve to reveal an image. This gives the child an incentive to brush their teeth. The client approached Optima with the idea drafted out as a rough sketch. From here I sketched some concepts, produced cad of the initial ideas. I then developed the chosen design, produced working prototypes with the aid of the in-house prototyping machine and created the six graphics.
